Bonding/Enamel Shaping

Bonding

With bonding, we can close spaces between teeth, lengthen small or misshapen teeth, or whiten stained or dark teeth. We can shape and color a single tooth or improve your entire smile. When teeth are chipped or beginning to wear, bonding can protect them from damage and restore their original looks.

Bonding your teeth with a material called composite resin requires just one appointment. First, we roughen and prepare the teeth and apply a conditioning gel. Then we place the resin, sculpt it to the desired shape, and harden it with a harmless, high-intensity, light,
and then polish.

Once in place, bonded restorations are very strong. Bonding can drastically improve your smile – the final result is beautiful and natural looking teeth.

Enamel Shaping

Enamel shaping is a process where we contour natural teeth to improve their overall appearance. When teeth are slightly crowded or uneven, or when your front teeth appear too long, or if there are small little chips, enamel shaping may be the answer in correcting the flaw. We modify your teeth by removing or contouring the tooth’s enamel to create a perfect balance in your mouth. Be aware that this more conservative process can’t solve all problems. Too much crowding may require braces, in which case we are happy to refer you to an orthodontist.

Enamel shaping is often combined with bonding and is usually quick and painless. No anesthesia is required when shaping the enamel and of course your results can be seen immediately.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain Veneers Before

Porcelain Veneers After

Veneers can help brighten front teeth that have permanent stains or discoloration that can’t be whitened. A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain or plastic that is bonded to a tooth to improve its color and shape. It generally covers only the front and top of a tooth. Veneers can be used to close spaces between teeth, lengthen small or misshapen teeth, or whiten stained or dark teeth. When teeth are chipped or beginning to wear, veneers can protect them from damage and restore their original appearance.

How Do We Restore Teeth With Veneers?

It takes two or more appointments to restore teeth with veneers. During the first appointment, we shape and roughen the teeth. We then take impressions of your teeth, which we use to make precise working models of your mouth. It’s on these models that we artistically craft veneers to fit the prepared teeth. In the meantime, tooth-colored temporaries are made and cemented while the porcelain veneers are being made.

During the second appointment, the temporaries are removed and we clean and polish the prepared teeth. Then we use an adhesive to bond the veneers to the teeth. A harmless, high-intensity light hardens the adhesive.

Once in place, veneers virtually become part of the teeth. You can use them like you would your own teeth because the bond is extremely strong. The final result is beautiful and natural-looking teeth.

Inlays/Onlays
CEREC Before
CEREC After

Inlays and onlays, also known as porcelain fillings, are used on teeth that experience a lot of force in chewing. Porcelain fillings are performed by using CEREC, which is an innovative technology making the process easier, more comfortable and more efficient. First we use an optical impression obtained from a specialized digital camera that is then stored as a three dimensional digital model. We then refine the digital model using the 3D software to the appropriate shape. When the model is finalized, a milling machine carves the actual restoration with strong tooth-colored ceramics in the office. When it’s complete, the restoration is bonded to the tooth using a resin concrete. The result is a beautiful restoration that is now complete in a single appointment…no temporaries and no second appointments.

CEREC is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics.

CEREC is a registered trademark of Sirona Dental Systems

Over time, your teeth darken as minerals penetrate their outer enamel layer. This darkening can be caused by foods and beverages that stain, such as coffee, colas, tea, red wine or berries. Tobacco products, like cigarettes, cigars and chewing tobacco, can cause teeth to take on a yellowish-brown hue. The natural aging process can also cause your teeth to darken.

We offer different choices in bleaching treatments. After we thoroughly examine your teeth and gums to make sure whitening is an appropriate option, you can choose the one that is best for you. Then, we will gladly help you get started on a whiter, brighter smile.

ZOOM

We are excited to offer you the one hour in-office whitening sensation of “ZOOM!”. “ZOOM!” is a radically new chair side tooth whitening system that uses a full-mouth bleaching light combined with a revolutionary 25% hydrogen peroxide light activated gel to lighten teeth dramatically in just under one hour.

At-Home Whitening

We can also prescribe a home whitening system that will safely lighten stains, giving you a whiter, brighter smile. The process virtually erases stains and brightens your teeth, without damaging you tooth enamel or your gums. For at-home whitening, we first take impressions of your teeth to make models. Using these models, we make a personalized whitening tray that fits tightly over your teeth, allowing us to achieve optimum results. At home, you’ll fill the tray with the whitening gel and place the tray over your teeth, keeping it in place for 30 minutes each day. Typically, you’ll begin to see results in just a matter of days.

Professional Crest Whitestrips

Professional strength Crest Whitestrips are also available to you. The Crest Whitestrips sold in our office have up to 80% more whitening than the Crest Whitestrips sold in stores. Packages contain enough whitestrips for 3 weeks, twice a day.

Pola Paint

Introducing our new quick, easy and on-the-go whitening! Pola Paint is an easy to use paint-on tooth whitening gel. It is a pleasant spearmint flavored gel which is simply applied onto the tooth surface. With no messy trays, you can recharge the brightness in your smile during your normal routine without anyone knowing.

Invisalign
Invisalign Before
Invisalign After

Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten your teeth without braces. It uses a series of clear aligners that are custom-molded to fit you. The virtually invisible aligners gradually reposition your teeth, without metal or wires to create a smile you’ll be proud of. Invisalign is designed to correct mild orthodontic problems such as minor crowding and spacing, therefore, treatment time is generally less than six months.

How Invisalign Works

Invisalign uses a 3-D computer imaging technology to depict the complete treatment plan from the initial position to the final desired position. From this treatment plan, a series of custom-made, clear “aligners” are produced. Each “aligner” moves teeth incrementally and is worn for about two weeks, then replaced by the next in the series until the final position is achieved. Aligners are made of clear, strong medical grade plastic that is virtually invisible when worn. Aligners look similar to tooth-whitening trays, but are custom-made for a better fit to move teeth. They have been referred to as “contact lenses for teeth”.

How Invisalign Effectively Moves Teeth

Invisalign aligners move teeth through the appropriate placement of controlled force on the teeth. The principal difference is the Invisalign not only controls forces, but also controls the timing of the force application. At each stage, only certain teeth are allowed to move, and these movements are determined by the treatment plan for that particular stage. This results in an efficient force delivery system.

Primary Benefits of Invisalign
-Invisalign is clear so you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing.
-Invisalign is removable, so you can eat and drink what you want during treatment as well as brush and floss normally to maintain good oral hygiene. Invisalign is comfortable. There are no metal brackets or wires as with braces to cause mouth irritation, and less time is spent getting adjustments. Invisalign allows you to view your own virtual treatment plan before you start.
